TheFork Manager: The Top Host badge

Table of content

Have you heard about Top Host? Find out why 5,000+ TheFork partner restaurants are already Top Hosts; and how it’s boosting their visibility and bookings.

What is a Top Host?

A Top Host has been identified as a reliable, standout partner restaurant of TheFork. This restaurant serves more than meals - it delivers a smooth service, punctuality, seamlessly follows TheFork rules, and consistently delights guests.

What does it mean for diners?

A consistently high-quality dining experience you can trust. Booking a Top Host aims to deliver timely seating, attentive service, and the reassurance of great reviews from fellow diners.

What does it mean for restaurateurs?

Earn recognition and extra visibility across TheFork - showcasing operational excellence and helping attract more guests.

How to earn the “Top Host” badge:

New selection is based on:

1. Business Performance & Volume

Top Performance: Achieve strong reservation and business results to ensure adequate feedback on service quality. This means being in the Top 25% (in terms of monthly platform contribution value) of your country.

Standard Assessment: Based on performance in the last 3 months.

Exception for Newly Signed Restaurants: For a restaurant's first 2 full months on the platform, the criteria will be assessed based on the performance in the last 2 months instead of 3.

Booking Volume: Maintain at least 20 reservations per month over the last 12 months.

Consistently High Ratings: Maintain a rating of 8.0 or higher (as of the last day of the previous month).

Minimum Time on Platform: Having been published on TheFork for a minimum of two months.

2. Service Quality & Booking Integrity

Ensure a seamless guest experience. The following operational issues must not exceed a maximum of 3 instances of each specific issue over the last 3 months:

Restaurant Cancellations: Cancellations initiated by the restaurant citing reasons like "The restaurant was full" or "The restaurant was closed."

Booking Failures: Negative user surveys indicating the restaurant was Not Aware of the booking or the diner Could Not Benefit from the meal (i.e., went to the restaurant but could not eat).

TheFork Benefit Misapplication: Negative user feedback surveys regarding issues with bookings involving Special Offers or Yums.

3. Adherence to TheFork Rules

Maintain reliable, platform-friendly operations:

No indication of fraud or violations of the terms.

No evidence of fake no-shows, fake cancellations, or party size manipulation.

How often is the Top Host eligibility reviewed?

New Top Host eligibility is reviewed monthly (on the first business week); however, once the badge is obtained, criteria are reviewed at different frequencies: Service Quality & Booking Integrity and Adherence to TheFork rules are reviewed weekly. The Business Performance & Volume criteria, conversely, are reviewed quarterly for current Top Hosts, utilising a threshold adjustment to account for temporary business fluctuations.

Keep delivering excellence to maintain your badge and keep shining.

Can a restaurant lose (and regain) the badge?

Absolutely. If standards drop, the badge may be taken away. But excellence pays off: once the criteria are met again at the next eligibility review, the badge can be proudly reinstated.

Where will diners see the badge?

Across TheFork app and website (restaurant cards and pages), so Top Hosts stand out at a glance.

How is Top Host different from INSIDER?

INSIDER is designed to highlight culinary acclaim. Top Host recognises day-to-day reliability and service excellence. It’s possible for restaurants to hold both.
